Group Show. Arttitud San Francisco.

Welcome the New ‘Arts District’ with works by Victoria Kovalenchikova Mina Markovich and Sergey Konstantinov.

Four established San Francisco art galleries have moved a block away from us on Utah Street. We’re calling it the new ‘Arts District’. Saturday, September 7th there will be inaugural group openings for the new spaces from 4pm-7pm, and we are welcoming them with a simultaneous art opening and cocktail reception at 111 Potrero.

Russian Pavilion to Arttitud San Francisco.

We are happy to welcome Russian Pavilion to Arttitud San Francisco for Fine Art Week, May 17-19, 2013. Art opening reception is Friday, May 17, from 6 to 9pm, with drinks and entertainment provided. Many of the participating artists will be traveling to San Francisco for this event.

The Russian Pavilion is a juried art exhibition showcasing emerging and established artists from Russia, Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Baltic regions during leading international contemporary art fairs in New York, San Francisco and Miami. Russian Pavilion had its incredibly successful debut during Armory Arts Week in New York City, March 2013.

Participating artists include: Blue Noses Group, Valery Yershov, Valentin Popov, Artem Mirolevich, Igor Vishnyakov, Rustam Khamdamov, Igor Molochevsky, Taguhi Barsegian, Leonid Gurevich, Victoria Kovalenchikova, Dasha Fursey Ilya Shevel, Sasha Meret, Olga Chemokhud-Doty, Alex Khomski, Sergey Konstantinov, Igor Zaytsev, Yuliya Lanina, Inna Antonova, Irene Koval & others.

Cultural Partners for the tour include: Museum of Russian Art (New Jersey), Kolodzei Art Foundation, Kavachnina Contemporary, Russian American Cultural Center, Northern Cross, Electra Inc., Universal Software Inc., Gambourg and Borsen.

This quintessential San Francisco property was built by Robert Pritikin, a former advertising executive and author of Christ Was an Ad Man. In 1977 Mr. Pritikin opened up the legendary “Mansion Hotel” in Pacific Heights, reportedly host to Barbara Streisand and Robert Kennedy Jr., amongst others. In 1987, he built Chenery House, which has played host to a number of notable San Francisco events over the years and guests ranging from Carol Channing, Mickey Rooney and Liberace to Mayor Willie Brown, senator Dianne Feinstein and other political figures. The residence has housed an extraordinarily eclectic collection of art ranging from the controversial portrait of Prince Phillip, Benny Bufano sculptures in the gardens and the famous wall-sized replica of Rembrandt’s enigmatic “Night Watch” commissioned by the Lord Mayor of Amsterdam.

Artist's Statement
I was born in the Ukraine in 1958. My expertise, experience, and vast knowledge with fine art is built on a very strong and solid foundation. In 1978, after studying painting and sculpture from 1974 to 1978, I decided to become an artist while attending Art College in Vizhnicya in the Ukraine. In 1980, I attended the Academy of Art in Lvov in the Ukraine where I continued my studies in painting and sculpture. I received my Masters Degree in fine art in 1985. My works have been publicized, displayed, and shown, either solo or in group exhibitions from 1983 to the present.I moved to San Francisco in 1991 where I continue to follow my passion for art that consists of creation, restoration, and conservation of fine art pieces. I carefully inspect and study works of art in museums whenever possible to analyze and capture the essence of masterpieces. This process allows me to better estimate and supervise the quality and application of my own works.
My inspiration from great art is mostly academic from an artists view point. Painting for me is a life force which resides in me and is a very exciting and fulfilling part of my spirit. Every element in my paintings should always be in fine harmony with full and complete structure before I can consider it as being successful. My art creates itself through me, surrendering to a process which involves powerful visions that are developed and expressed through me in paint.
The public arena for me has always been an increasingly desirable and sustainable site for intuitive public interaction as opposed to the formal art experience within a gallery or museum setting. With technological advances, the public realm expands its capacity for fresh conceptual and visual outcomes. This has provided a vehicle and forum for me to receive feedback and constructive criticism and to also convey and reach out to the public with my works.
